CHARLES MAK

FOUNDER & MANAGING PARTNER

Charles is a driven Talent Strategy Consultant & Leader with over a decade of experience in Technology, Digital, Data, and Innovation recruitment.

He has been recognised as a transparent & efficient expert with a high level of return business among his global clients. He brings a track record of success with major international corporations, SMEs and start-ups across a spectrum of industries and a broad range of APAC locations.

Charles was previously a key driver of another multinational recruitment firm as it transformed from a start-up into a corporate. He progressed onto a leadership position swiftly through his consistent delivery in both contingent & retained partnerships.

With an in-depth understanding & overview of the broader APAC technology landscape as well as domestic market dynamics, Charles co-founded Mavence Group in 2020 to carry forward his momentum and to incorporate his belief into redefining what it means to be a truly value-adding recruitment expert. Currently specialising in hard-to-fill technology hires, building digital & innovation teams from zero-to-one, and engaging in regional scalability projects.

Prior to recruitment, Charles completed his education in the UK, with a Masters Degree in Management from WBS, and a Bachelor Degree in Psychology also from the University of Warwick. He speaks Native English and Cantonese, with business fluency in Mandarin.                                                                    

CARMEN LAM

FOUNDER, RESEARCH & OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

Carmen is an energetic and inquisitive HR & Operations professional who came from a multi-functional background in both large-scale enterprises and start-ups, including human resources, talent research, administration and compliance.

Having consistently been recognised as a detail-oriented individual with a positive energy, she is known to proactively strive for excellence in all aspects of operations within her coverage.

Being one of the Co-Founders of Mavence Group, she is fully committed towards maximising efficiency in all non-sales related processes (including but not limited to finance & compliance operations), as well as enhancing our network of reach in meeting the needs of the APAC region by identifying passive global talents and mapping niche skill-sets through a versatile approach to research.

Prior to her career, Carmen completed her education in the UK, with a Masters Degree in Marketing and Strategy in WBS, and Bachelor in Management and Business Administration in the University of Reading. She is a fluent trilingual across English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
